NICET began the maintenance cycle for the Fire Alarm Systems (FAS) certification program in May 2026. Exam content will be updated to reflect the 2025 edition of NFPA 72, and NICET has applied for ANAB accreditation under the ISO/IEC 17024 standard. NICET is also seeking Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support the test development process. Updated exams are anticipated to launch in mid-to-late 2027.

These exams give you the opportunity to demonstrate your skills using real ASTM or AASHTO testing methods for Asphalt, Concrete, Soils, and Aggregates. You can choose from 70+ approved test methods, and each exam focuses on practical procedures, calculations, equipment use, and standard requirements. Successful completion is recorded in your NICET certification history and can help support additional laboratory or personnel qualification requirements.
