PE Magazine recently featured an article on how NICET’s Highway Construction Inspection (HCI) Certification Program continues to support safe, high-quality infrastructure through a skilled and qualified workforce. As the industry evolves, the program is being updated to reflect current practices, emerging technologies, and increasing demand for certified professionals. Updated HCI exams will launch April 27, 2026, ensuring inspectors are prepared to meet today’s standards and challenges.
Applications are being accepted for the Systems Software Integrator (SSI) certification and approved candidates are now able to take the SSI exam.
NICET’s Highway Construction Inspection (HCI) exams are undergoing update/ maintenance and new exams will be available for testing starting April 27, 2026. References will be permitted in the testing center when the new exams launch.
The Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems (ITWBS) Level III Pilot Test ended Nov 30, 2025. All three levels of updated ITWBS exams are now live.
