Mike Clark, NICET COE, continued to serve on the Institute for Credentialing Excellence’s National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). Mr. Clark provided public comment to the State of Washington, State Building Code Council concerning proposed changes to regulations there. He also regularly presented the value of certification and NICET at industry events.

Chip Hollis, NICET Communications Director, provided written and oral testimony to the Pennsylvania Senate and House Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness Committees. The testimony provided information on NICET’s fair, valid and reliable certification programs. Mr. Hollis regularly presented the value of certification and NICET at industry events and through online webinars.

Sean Woods, NICET Senior Certification Test Developer, presented Exam Development Innovations and Challenges at the Council on Licensure Enforcement & Regulation’s (CLEAR) Annual Education Conference. Mr. Woods accepted a new position at NSPE as Marketing Manager for the Membership Marketing & Content Services department.

The National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), NICET's parent, joined the Professional Certification Coalition (PCC). The coalition was founded to thwart efforts that undermine the recognition of certifications developed or offered by private certification organizations like NICET. NSPE, PCC and NICET certification holders successfully stopped multiple threats to certification around the country. Membership in PCC is just of one NSPE’s advocacy efforts that protect licensing laws and the value of NICET certification.
