In case you missed it… Earlier this year NICET issued digital credentials to everyone certified in our current engineering technician programs. Plus, we continue to issue digital credentials to every new certification, upgrade, and recertification. We are excited about providing a modern way of recognizing and celebrating the achievements of our certification holders. We sent email notifications and certified individuals can access them any time on the “My Certifications” page in their NICET accounts. Just click the blue button on the upper right.
As part of NICET’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the value of our certifications, the digital credentialing program provides a secure, shareable, and verifiable way for certification holders to showcase their accomplishments across platforms such as LinkedIn and through email signatures. Individuals that are certified at higher levels receive their lowers level too. You only need to share the highest level, but it is up to you.
The badges are linked to real-time information about the certifications and the rigor of the requirements for attaining them. Since built-in security features reduce the chance of false claims of certification, the badges will provide stakeholders (employers, contract specifiers, government officials, etc.) with a more reliable method of verifying that an individual possesses the NICET certification(s) that they claim to hold.
We are excited about the possibilities of this new digital badge system and the potential for qualified individuals to better showcase their accomplishments. In 2026 we will continue to provide specific information about sharing and getting the most out of digital credentials. This increased exposure of NICET certification in a consistent, verifiable electronic format will improve the recognition of our certification programs.
