Advertising Policy

NICET recognizes the vital role played by training organizations and the value of their services to technicians and technologists. The Institute does not sell mail or email lists, but does provide advertising opportunities as a way for trainers to communicate their services to potential customers, our candidates and certificants. It is in the interests of all concerned that trainers represent themselves honestly and accurately, and that their dealings with NICET and our clients reflect that honesty and are free from conflicts of interest.

The presence of an advertisement on the NICET website implies no review or endorsement of the advertising entity, its programs, products, or personnel, by NICET. All entities are welcome to advertise on the NICET website, provided that they accept these policies.

While NICET does not actively monitor advertisers, it will review credible complaints and may perform occasional spot checks.

NICET reserves the right to deny or revoke the right of any entity to advertise on the NICET website for any reason. The following are examples of the kind of illegal or unethical practices that will lead to denial or revocation of advertising privileges:

  • Violation of NICET copyrights or trademark registration
  • Encouraging the violation of NICET copyrights or other testing misconduct
  • Intentionally false or obviously misleading claims
  • Discriminatory or indecent content
  • Spamming or inappropriate use of personal information
  • Failure to submit proper and timely payment

Revoked advertising privileges may be restored, at NICET's discretion, if NICET is satisfied that the problem situation has been corrected.

NICET will not refund or compensate advertisers for any failure to display the advertisement for any period of less than 12 hours. NICET will, upon request, provide compensation for any failure to display an advertisement for a period of greater than 12 hours. The compensation will consist of, at the discretion of the advertiser, either an extension of the advertising period by a length equivalent to the length of the outage, rounded to the nearest number of whole days, or a monetary payment equivalent to the prorated advertiser's fee for the length of the outage, rounded to the nearest number of whole days. If the failure to display is due to a revocation of the advertiser's right to advertise by NICET, the advertiser will receive a monetary payment equivalent to the prorated advertiser's fee for the remainder of the period paid for by the advertiser, rounded to the nearest number of whole days.
