Obtaining NICET Technologist Certification by Reciprocity
Canadian Certified Engineering Technologists

NICET recognizes technologist certifications awarded by constituent members of the Canadian Council of Technicians and Technologists (CCTT), including AETTN, ASET, ASTTBC, CTTAM, NBSCETT, OACETT, OTPQ, PEISCET, SASTT, and SCETTNS. You may apply for the NICET equivalent of your certification after you have established United States residency.

The Canadian Reciprocity Technologist application includes the following parts:

  • Part I: Applicant Information
  • Part II: Technologist Work History

Associate Engineering Technologist (AT) applicants must submit Part I. Certified Engineering Technologist (CT) applicants must submit Part I plus a work history (Part II) detailing 5 years relevant experience earned since graduation. All reciprocity technologist applicants must submit the application review fee and a photocopy of the Canadian certificate awarded by a CCTT constituent member. Within six weeks or receiving all your application materials, NICET will notify you by mail of your certification status.
